A very chilly but clear morning of birding along the James River this
morning provided lots of spring birds for our Audubon field trip, but
fewer than yesterday by all reports!

We found:
Double crested Cormorant
Great Blue heron
Canada Goose
Mallard
Osprey
Bald Eagle
Sharp-shinned Hawk
Killdeer
Spotted Sandpiper
Caspian Terns
Mourning Doves
Great Horned Owl - juvenile - thanks Jan!
Chimney Swift
Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Belted Kingfisher
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Downy Woodpecker
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
Pileated Woodpecker
Great Crested Flycatcher
Eastern Kingbird
White-eyed Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo
Blue Jay
American Crow
Carolina Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
Carolina Wren
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
