Hello All,
It's too bad today wasn't a survey day. Jay and I went to Algonkian Park this
morning, walked upriver from the boat launch, and watched an incredible
flotilla of 100 Hooded Mergansers drifting downriver. They liked what they
found just opposite the park and we watched for an hour as they fished and
cavorted. Also present in this wonderful collection were 9 Common Mergansers,
4 Goldeneyes, 15 Gadwalls, 1 Wigeon, several Black Ducks, 2 Scaup, 1
Ring-necked Duck, 3 Buffleheads, and many, many Canada Geese.
Some days you just get lucky!
