I don't know whether this is really unusual or not, but I had this morning at
the feeders a full breeding plumage, adult male goldfinch, with black cap and
all. I have never seen a goldfinch dressed in bright yellow this late in the
year.
There were 9 Purple Finches (3 females) here with the House Finches and
Goldfinches today.
