The abbey was in the clouds a good bit this morning, but then they started
breaking up mid-day, and I watched several groups of warblers move down our
ridge. There were Chestnut-sided, Yellow-rumped, Black-throated Green,
Blackpoll, Cerulean, Black-and-White, Redstart, Worm-eating, Ovenbird, Kentucky
and Hooded Warblers. Among them was the first Baltimore Oriole I have seen this
year and a Red-breasted Nuthatch.
The flycatchers were represented by several Pewees, the resident Phoebes, 2
Great Crested and a Kingbird.
There were still a few White-throated Sparrows today along the edge of the
woods, near the vineyard.
