I looked at 77mm size and up scopes. I was also only using zoom eye pieces,
typically 20-60x zooms. I found that the Swarovski, Leica and Zeiss had
much larger ocular diameters and better exit pupil distances for me than
most of the others. The Kowa as an example had, I thought as good of view
at 20x as did any of the others but for me as the magnification increased
the light decreased because of the smaller ocular diameter and exit pupil
distance, if I wasn't wearing glasses it would be fine.
I was also only looking at scopes with top end glass i.e.; ED, HD, APO......
One last thing Swarovski does have that very nice mounting plate for Bogen
tripods.
