I found a red-headed woodpecker at Leesylvania SP along the Powell's
Creek trail this morning, giving me a 7 woodpecker morning at the park.
Birding was a bit slow, but I did turn up a Louisiana waterthrush and 2
yellow-throated warblers. At one point a hermit thrush and ruby-crowned
kinglet were singing together, transporting me back to Maine.
Metz wetlands was also slow. There were many Forster's terns in Neabsco
creek, and a number of yellowlegs (greaters are all I could ID). Great
egret is a new arrival at Metz.
