This morning I awoke to the repeated song of White-Eyed Vireo, back in his
accustomed place. Soon after, I had a female Purple Finch at my feeder (the
first I've seen this year as I didn't have them over the winter). When I
got home from work this evening, I heard that my Great Crested Flycatcher
buddy was back, wheeping. Two Barred Owls have been very vociferous this
month and were this evening-they must have a nest very near.
Walking down the driveway toward the swampy pond at the end looking for the
owls, I was surrounded by a deafening cacophony of invisible Spring
Peepers-they must have chosen this evening for their dispersal into the
woods!
Cheers,
Mary Ann Good
