All,
This afternoon around 4:30 there were two Laughing Gulls sitting on the
mudflats at Hunting Creek, Alexandria. They were among about 100
Ring-billed Gulls, a few Herring and a few Great Black-backs. One was
in complete alternate plumage sporting those really nice white eyes
crescents and the other was about 3/4 the way there.
There was also an adult Tundra Swan there (looking quite huge next to
the gulls) that was calling every 30 seconds or so. No mate showed up
while I was there though.
