There were a few lingering late birds on the Chesapeake Bay just west of the
Lynnhaven Fish House pier for the past few days. Along with the more common
species, I saw 1 late female RED-BREASTED MERGANSER, 1 HORNED GREBE in breeding
plumage, at least 3 late NORTHERN GANNETS, 30 late BONAPARTE'S GULLS, and my
FOS COMMON TERN (See ebird reports for May 15 & 16, 2007 that follow).
