Today I was showing Aimee Weldon the bald eagle roost site at the Wilna tract
of the Rappahannock River Valley NWR when we spotted two maybe three
brownheaded nuthatches. This is a first for this spot.
We also flush a flock of 7-8 Wilson's snipe from a flooded farmfield on Cat
Point Creek.
Other highlights were plenty of bald eagles around Fones Cliffs, osprey on
nests, woodcock, pine warblers singing everywhere.
