Hunting Creek mudflats continue to have significant activity with a Least
Sandpiper and 32 Killdeer as well as a roosting immature Black-crowned Night
Heron seen in the afternoon. Sixty four Canvasback dove with Ring-necked
Ducks, Scaup, Ruddy and Bufflehead off the Dyke Marsh boardwalk. Finally,
from the northernmost tip of the picnic area I observed a Peregrine falcon
perched atop the Masonic Temple in Alexandria. .. A Cooper's Hawk, Red-tailed,
Red-shouldered and 4 adult Bald eagles hunted near the river's edge.
