Drove down to Leesylvania St. Pk. this morning looking for Yellow-throated
warblers. I found two. The first was in the pines and deciduous trees at the
far end of the picnic area, near the fishing pier.  It was singing
intermittently and hoping around high in the tree.  I saw the bird, but not
well. The other warbler was also  in the picnic area at the far other end
near the boat launch parking as you come in.  It was in the pines in the
area between the paved entrance road and the dirt/gravel road by the gazebo.
This bird was much more cooperative. It was singing often, about 30 ft up in
the pines, often in the open.  I had super views of the bright yellow throat
and clear views of the bold face pattern, often in the sun. Stunning views
of a stunning bird! . Chipping sparrows were also at he second location.
Many thanks to Paula Sullivan for her, as always , helpful advice in finding
these birds.
