Hello VA birders
Sorry about the late posting but I was very worn out from running
around on the Loudoun count yesterday and then spent a good part of
today looking for (and seeing) the Black-Throated Gray Warbler at Blandy.
Yesterday on the Central Loudoun CBC I spotted a Yellow-Breasted
Chat on the corner of Lime Kiln Rd. and Steptoe Hill Rd. On the
northwest corner of the intersection there is a very dense thicket with
lots of Bittersweet and Honeysuckle vine covering several trees, about
30 feet off the road. The Chat was in this thicket and being very
secretive. At about 11:30 in the morning I got 3 quick looks at it and
then it was gone.
I'm thinking that Black-Throated Gray Warbler and Yellow-Breasted
Chat is a very good way to end an excellent year of birding.
Good Birding to all
