A great birding morning at Holmes Run II Park. It began with nine Wood Ducks,
groups of four and five, all males except one female. Hopefully, other females
are in the many nesting boxes along the stream. Warblers weâre next on the
batting order: Yellow-rump; Common Yellowthroat; Black and White and American
Redstart. Thrushes included: Hermit and Swansons (a lifer). A Wood Thrush was
heard but not seen. A Crow and a Grackle weâre fishing in the shallows, the
crow caught a crawdad.
