Both the White-winged Dove and the Allen's/Rufous Hummingbird continue in the
side yard at 9 Randolph Avenue today as of 1349. The dove is rather jumpy
(and flew off moments ago to the south), but the hummer allows fairly close
approach, at least within 12 feet by a few people (if walked very slowly).
I'll
post news on these again tomorrow and then on next Tuesday the 15th. If
there are sightings of these or other birds in the yard Friday-Monday, I'd be
grateful to get word at this address. Pine Siskins also around in the early
morning and Purple Sandpipers on the town jetty.
