I visited the Whitehurst Tract this past Sunday afternoon.  Bird species
included:

Northern Pintail  -- 2
Northern Shoveler  -- >20
Green-winged Teal  -- >80
Blue-winged Teal   -- 2
Mallard   -- >10
American Coot  -- >20
Hooded Merganser  -- >15
Pied-billed Grebe -- 1
Greater Yellowlegs  -- 11
Lesser Yellowlegs  -- 1
White Ibis -- 1 imm.
American Bittern  -- 1
Bald Eagle -- 1 imm.
Song Sparrow -- >10

This list of birds isn't complete.  The Pied-billed Grebe had hold of a
frog, which I thought was interesting.  It was a nice day to be out and hear
the birds.
