VA Birders,
Probably the best bird seen on our Northern Virginia Bird Club (NVBC)
walk at Fort C. F. Smith Park, Arlington, this morning, was an immature
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW. Other birds of note were PINE & PALM WARBLERS, and at
least 24
CEDAR WAXWINGS.
For the record, after reading about all the sightings of CHIMNEY SWIFTS
on Oct. 19, we had about 12 swifts in the late afternoon of Oct. 19 at Fort
Smith Park when we went back to look for the Orange-crowned Warbler found by
Joanna Taylor. I have not seen any more swifts since that time there or
elsewhere.
Good birding,
Val Kitchens
