Late this afternoon the White-Throateds were out in force at Long Branch in
Arlington. The biggest concentration was in a Greenbrier patch north of the
building up by the entrance on Jefferson St in the Glencarlyn neighborhood.
This
briar patch has been a popular hangout for them in past winters although it
was little used last winter for some reason. Mixed in were a couple of
Towhees.Later, in the fading light, I saw at least two thrushes that I assumed
to be
Hermits along Long Branch stream a bit upstream from the nature center
building.
I also heard a fair amount of GC Kinglet activity.
Finally, last week I had several more sightings of the pair of Brown
Thrashers in our back yard.
Cheers,
Steve
