Today, August 2nd, there was an adult White Pelican in the impoundment across
from the observation platform on the main road at Hog Island in Surry County.
Other highlights included almost 200 Great Egrets (a very high number for the
site), about 100 Black Ducks ( also quite high), 2 Least Terns, an im.
Bonaparte's Gull, Pied-billed Grebe, with chicks and a few each of Spotted,
Solitary, Least and Pectoral sandpipers and Semi-palmated Plovers.
