This morning, my mother Sue and I found a juvenile WHITE IBIS at Kerr
Reservoir in Mecklenburg County. The bird was located among the rocks
below the dam and viewed from Tailrace Park. If anyone has the info,
I'd be interested to know how many records there are for White Ibis from
the piedmont. I did manage to get a few low quality photos for
documentation. Also seen at that spot were 6 GREAT EGRETS and a SPOTTED
SANDPIPER. Elsewhere, there was an immature BALD EAGLE flying over the
lake above the dam and over at Clyde's Pond in the Dick Cross WMA there
was a lone GREATER YELLOWLEGS. Good birding.
