[va-bird] Waterfowl at Ivy Lake, Bedford County

A nice assortment of waterfowl was present on Ivy Lake in Bedford County
on Sunday, February 2.

1     Long-tailed duck
1     Northern pintail
400+  Canada Goose  (1 hybrid orange bill & legs, white head -  also I
saw
one with a 3" metal neck band in the morning)
80+   Ring-necked ducks
60+   Mallards
5     Bufflehead
1     Gadwall
6     Hooded Mergansers
7     Coots
1     Killdeer
8     Canvasbacks
1     Pied-bill grebe

This was the 6th sighting of the Long-tailed Duck for the Lynchburg area
within the past 50
years.
