All,
We did manage to get out for the waterfowl count in Eastern Loudoun
today.
Weather was not with us at all. Access to Beaverdam on Resevoir Road was
not possible without 4 wheel drive which neither of us has. The road was
not plowed and only some tracks led through the mud. Access was only from
Alford and Mt. Hope roads on the eastern side. Most of the ponds along RT
15 and other areas were frozen over. The Dulles Wetlands was completely
frozen over.
That said, we did find the following:
At a pond off of Evergreen Mills Rd, Mallard 2.
On Beaverdam, Canada Goose 1
Hooded Merganser 5
Horned Grebe 1
Pied billed Grebe 1
Black Duck 1
Mallard 1
Unidentified Duck 8
Ring billed Gull 2
At Dulles Lake, Canada Goose 83
Mallard 18
Black Duck 3
Ring necked Duck 7
Hooded Merganser 26
Ruddy Duck 37
Coot 3
Great Blue Heron 1
Ring billed Gull 3
