A Virginia Rail was heard at the start of the boardwalk at Huntley Meadows
Park this morning, November 18, 2002. Kurt Gaskill located the Rail. The
Rail and an immature Bald Eagle were the highlights of the Monday Morning
Birdwalk from 0700 to 0900. Thirty-six species were observed during the walk
led by Don Mauchline, Gene Keefe and Sy Fishbein. The cold, windy, but sunny
day did not deter the thirteen participants of the walk. A flock of thirteen
Northern Flickers was seen on the far side of the central pond.
