Last update from me. Just thought you all might want a heads up: at about
10:45 this morning, three of us were scoping the Snowy Owl at Dulles when
an Airport Police Officer approached us. He told us we needed to get
permission from the Airport Authority to stand on the parking garage
(whether using scopes or not). He gave us a number to call and I quickly
and easily obtained permission to continue scoping the birds.
Of note, though, is that the officer requested all three of us to hand over
our IDs, so be prepared for the possibility of a little turbulence (get
it?) if you're going to Dulles for some Snowy viewing.

big yellow sign for "Y9/Y11". Look directly southwest from the southwest
corner of the daily parking lot #2. Level 5 is closed for parking, but you
can walk up from level 4 parking. Parking fee is $4/one half hour.
