I am just back from a trip. If anyone has seen the Say's Phoebe recently, I
would be pleased to hear about it, directly.
Thanks,

Mark Johnson and I drove up to Remington today to see the Say's Phoebe that
has been reported there. We had no trouble finding the Phoebe and watched it
with binoculars and scope for 20 minutes as it flitted around on the roof of
a house, then to a barn, and various farm implements. We even took a few
pictures from a distance.
We left the end of Normans Ford Rd (654) and slowly dove up the road
observing the many horned larks in the sod fields. About a half mile up the
road, a lady in a black pickup truck stopped and let us know in no uncertain
terms that she was tired of people looking at her house with binoculars. It
was making her uncomfortable. She mentioned calling the police. We had no
chance to try to assuage her feelings. I assume she was the owner of the
house where we had observed the Phoebe.
I am sorry we did not do a better job of interfacing with the owner. We could
have stopped short of the house and observed from a distance or we could have
asked permission. We wrongly assumed that so many people had seen the bird,
that there was no problem.
As we observed the Horned Larks, a Peregrine Falcon flew over and flushed all
the Larks. We also saw a Kestrel and a Red-shouldered Hawk along Normans Ford
Rd.
