Don't know much about the propensity of BAEA to take GBHE, but I have twice
observed Golden Eagles attempting to depredate this species. Why is a heron
worth more than a goose or duck, curiously? Trust me, there are countless
permits given out for limited destruction of Great Blue Herons that are taking
fish at commercial fish production ponds. Once spoke to a guy in NC that had
been issued a permit to kill 25...his perspective on the matter - "who's
counting?"...So an eagle taking a couple is a drop in a bucket, so-to-speak.
