Excuse this question--I'm a fairly new birder, about a year into it. Are
urban black vulture sightings unusual? I've seen them in my neighborhood

For those of you who expressed interest in urban Black Vulture sightings, I
saw two at 4:30 PM today soaring over the Carlyle section of Alexandria
(across Duke St. from the Masonic Temple and King St. Metro station) less
than a block from passing over the Federal Courthouse. This probably has the
makings of a lawyer joke or two.
