With great sadness I must pass along that Tom Gwynn passed away this afternoon
in Williamsburg after a long illness. He was with family and friends.
All who knew Tom will remember his sense of humor and love of natural history.
He was an exceptional field naturalist who generously shared his passion and
was a regular volunteer for wildlife festivals and events. A generation of
naturalists and birders benefited from his wealth of knowledge and his
willingness to pass it on.
Arrangements are pending and will include a celebration of his life sometime
after the first of the year. In lieu of flowers, we would ask that
contributions be made in Tom's memory with details of possible charities to
follow. More information will be shared when available. Please keep the family
in your thoughts and prayers.
