Hi all,
I haven't heard any reports of Common Redpoll in the three states to our
north, so it's amazing to get a call from Brian Patteson today, who is building
his home at Frisco, NC (just this side of Hatteras village), that his first
good
yard bird is Common Redpoll -- a single bird yesterday and three today,
feeding close by the house on weedy plants. We should keep an eye out for more
of
these critters as we go into Christmas Bird Count season, especially on the
coast and in the mountains.
