Good morning warbler-seekers,
For those still in search of a glimpse of the elusive fellow, the Mourning
Warbler was spotted again yesterday at Monticello, with several sightings by
four people between the hours of 2 and 6 p.m. One lucky fellow observed him
bathing in the stream not far beyond the fallen tree that crosses the path.
The rest of us saw the bird at about mid-park, on and near a log that juts
out over the stream as well as in the low-lying vegetation on both sides of
the stream. The distinctive chip note provided a welcome announcement of
imminent viewings, most of which were rather brief but good. Also present
were many of the same cast of warbler characters as in yesterday's "mourning"
posting.
Good birding,
Sue Nedrow
