It was suggested to me by a birder who will go unnamed, but lives in
Jeffersonton, that a summary of all the Barnacle Goose reports to date
might be useful. There are probably very few local birders out there who
haven't seen the gorgeous goose as yet, but some of you who live a bit
further away might be considering a trip to Alexandria to see our local
celebrity. Others who enjoy tedium and/or want to study the wanderings
of
the goose, might find it interesting. I may have missed a few reported
observations. I have deliberately omitted observers' names to keep the
list as concise as possible. Directions to all these locations have been
given at one time or the other on this list, and are available in the
archives, so I have not repeated them.
