We had a pair of Mississippi Kites that appeared to be using the nest
from last year near Branchville in Southampton County. Tha male was perched
about 50 yards away from the nest & we could see a bird on the nest that,
although
we were looking almost directly into the sun, looked like a female.
Later, about 10 miles away, we had an Anhinga sunning at Bellyache Swamp.
The swamp is on Rt 661 between Rt 652 & Rt 653.
At Chub Sandhill Natural Area Preserve in Sussex County, we had a Wilson's
Warbler. Along with all the usual suspects, we had over 65 species. Not a bad
day.
