I saw the Snowy Owl on Sunday afternoon, around 1 p.m from the corner of the
garage roof deck closest to the post office. It was way off to the left,
perched on a concrete block just a foot or so above the ground in the midst of
the
tangle of runways - just to the left of a yellow sign (sign said Y9 and had
an arrow that pointed right at the owl). The bird was so far away as to be
discernible only by spotting scope. While motionless much of the time, it also
turned about some, possibly preening, and at one point extended a wing. The
contrast between the predominant white plumage and the black feathers was
readily evident.
Many thanks to the birders who found this marvelous bird and provided such
good directions on how to find it!
