Evening,

A cold day in SNP, the temperature started out at 38
F.  It was overcast and misty most of the day.  I
birded along the drive from Swift Run Gap to Big
Meadows in the Central District.

The Point Overlook Mile 55.6 Elevation 3235 feet

Barred Owl - repeated song three times

Ovenbird - Multiple Ovenbirds were singing. I was able
to follow this bird for 30 minutes.  It seemed to
ignore my presence.

Blue-headed Vireo - Gleaning in Service Berry Bush.

Dark-eyed Juncos
Eastern Towhees
Gray Catbirds
American Robins
Crows
Ravens

Naked Creek Overlook Mile 53.2 Elevation 3250 feet

Downy Woodpecker
White-breasted Nuthatch
Cowbirds
American Robins
Eastern Bluebird
Chimney Swifts
Carolina Chickadee

Big Meadows Mile 51.2 Elevation 3510

Screech Owl - Ranger was showing a Screech Owl at
Visitor Center.  It had an injured right eye.

A good lunch and delicious blackberry milkshake!

Regards,

Jim Fitzgerald
