I made a very quick pass through Huntley Meadows tonight and saw a mind
boggling amount of shorebirds there. It was by far the most shorebirdy I've
ever seen the place! I can't even begin to guess the numbers but there were at
least 20 SOLITARY SANDPIPERS there. There were also huge numbers of LEASTS,
and YELLOWLEGS.
I also had 3 SNIPE, 2 SEMIPALM. PLOVERS, and 1 KILLDEER.
I had a fly over COMMON NIGHTWAWK too........first of the year for me.
Some ambitious maniac should try to do an accurate count out there soon!
