Hi all,
I am trying to organize a pelagic trip out of Rudee Inlet in VA Beach for
September 20 (Monday following VSO Chicoteague Trip, also the weekend of the
Kiptopeke Challenge). Since a lot of you will be at the coast then anyway, I
thought it may be a good time to get a headboat booked. The cost will depend
on the number of participants but should run between $60-100/person (plus tips
of 15-20%).The more people the cheaper per head. These boats can hold upwards
of 100 passengers. Some of these boats can reach deepwater ~60 nautical miles
east of VA Beach.
At deepwater trip at this time of year should produce Parasitic,Pomarine, and
Long-tailed Jaegers, Wilson's Storm-petrel, Audubon's, Cory's, and possibly
Manx Shearwaters, a variety of terns, and possibly White-faced Stormies, gadfly
petrels, Sabine's Gull, and skua, as well as Red-necked and Red Phalarope.
If you would be interested in such a trip, please let me know ASAP.
Thanks,
Mike Boatwright--
