Birders,
Late afternoon I observed one Sedge Wren at the Atlantic Wildfowl Heritage
Museum (12 & Atlantic) at the oceanfront. I believe it was seen by 2 tourist
visiting the Museum late morning. I was busy painting (part of volunteer duties
at AWHM on Friday's) and not able to get out there and look
earlier...however...the area the tourists saw it was the same area I observed
it at 4pm. As you
enter the parking lot of the Museum look to the right of the bench in the
garden area closest to the Atlantic Ave. I was able to get VERY close and
easily
observed without binoculars. It responded to pishing and ducked in and out of
the garden plants while staying close to be bench. Also Seaside Sparrows can be
found throughout the garden area of the AWHM.
Another note of interest..while walking in my sub-division (Hunt Club Forest)
I saw a male Hooded Merganser in the small pond located in the back of the
sub-division. This really surprised me...shouldn't they be gone?
