This has been an unprecedented spring for the movement of Rose-breasted
Grosbeaks through Central Virginia. We have had birds at the feeder for
14 consecutive days (beginning on April 20 and still here today). The
high count at my feeder has been 4 males and 2 females. I have received
dozens of calls from people who are seeing the species for the first time
at their feeders. The high count was from Lynchburg where 7 males and 8
females were visiting a sunflower seed feeder.
