I scoped the Potomac River from the concrete observation platform at Riverbend
Park for about a half-an-hour, about 3 o'clock this afternoon. Much the same
as I saw on Saturday.
Lots of Ring-necked ducks and Bufflehead, six female and four male Common
Mergansers, some Mallards, and a Pied-billed Grebe. Also saw six female and
four male Redhead, and two male Canvasback ducks.
I also have a second/third hand, but reliable, report that a female Common
Goldeneye, and one or more American Widgeon was seen on the river at Riverbend
on Sunday. I did not personally see these last three birds, but the source is
reliable.
