A pair of close Common Mergansers on the Potomac River were readily seen from
the boat launch area this morning despite the heavy fog blanketing this
section of river.
Earlier, the meadow produced both Ruby and Golden-crowned Kinglets in
addition to sparrows--White-throated, Song, Swamp and Junco, and the usual
resident
woodland species and woodpeckers. A flock of 60 Robins added some action in
the tree tops.
