Russ Taylor and I birded Riverbend Park, in Fairfax County, Virginia,
yesterday morning from 7:00 am to 9:00 am. We started at the meadow and
found a Ruby-crowned Kinglet and a weakly signing House Wren. There were
many juvenile Phoebes, with their bright yellow bellies, and one yellow
Redstart.
Down on the river we found one small flock of migrants that included Black
and White, Parula, Chestnut-sided and another couple Redstarts. All in all
it was a very pleasant morning.
eBird.org ranks the states on most checklists submitted. Guess where
Virginia ranks. Go to eBird and find out! Do you think we can overtake Ohio?
Cheers,
Phil
