Hi All,
We are really looking forward to a fun weekend in Virginia Beach from
Friday, Dec. 6th through Sunday, Dec. 8th. Our host clubs have worked
hard to come up with lots of birding options, including a pelagic trip
aboard the "Nancy Anne" out of Lynnhaven Inlet.

A brief summary of some of the events are below.
FRIDAY AFTERNOON
As a special enticement to get an early start on the weekend, a field
trip will leave the hotel at 1:00 p.m. for First Landing State Park
FRIDAY EVENING
Come join your hosts, Tom and Karen Beatty, at the Atlantic Wildfowl
Heritage Museum. The museum is located just a few short blocks from the
hotel at 1113 Atlantic Avenue. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. and light
refreshments (sandwiches, etc) will be available. At 7:00 p.m. there will
be a slide presentation on some of the birds we might see on the weekend.
Everyone will be able to tour this marvelous wildfowl museum. Don't miss
it!
SATURDAY FIELD TRIPS
Back Bay NWR and False Cape State Park:
Virginia Beach Pelagic Trip
This is another option for those who would like to participate on a
pelagic trip and possibly add some species to your Virginia or life list.

SATURDAY EVENING
Gather for a bird tally and social hour at 6:00 p.m. in a meeting room at
the hotel. Non-alcoholic beverages will be available. Come join us as we
share tales of the great bird sightings so far. Enjoy the company of
fellow birders and VSO members and maybe form congenial dinner groups.
SUNDAY FIELD TRIP
The Sunday field trip to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (CBBT) leaves
promptly at 7:15 a.m.
