There is a nesting pair of red-headed woodpeckers at Hanging Rock Golf
Course in Salem.  Don't know how many young there might be, but one was
quite vocal yesterday and half-way out of the hole.  Looked like it could be
close to fledging.  The adults only fed it once while we watched for about
15 minutes yesterday, and we did not see them actively foraging for
something to feed it even as vocal as it was.  Perhaps they're trying to
draw it out of the nest.
