Our PUMA scout that's been patiently waiting for
company since the 14th of the month was finally joined
by two adult females this afternoon and they wasted no
time in inspecting and selecting their quarters. I
suppose in this case the early bird doesn't get the
worm, it gets the best gourd.
I wish I knew why, but this is the earliest we've
ever had our Martins return in the 10+ years of having
an active colony. The previous early date we have
recorded for a returning scout was the 11th of April,
nearly a month later than this year's date.
