Birders
Two of the five active prothonotary boxes at OB and Vet's park had just hatched
babies. At Vet's park the female flew from the box weakly. She looked like she
could bearly keep from falling into the water. Then she landed on a log with
her wings spread and down, fluttering weakly, making little hops and making a
continuous call I hadn't heard before. This warbler was doing a good 'I'm an
injured bird' act! The male prothonotary flew down next to her for a bit then
flew. I wonder if he was fooled too. The box had two hatched and three eggs.
Prehaps this attounts for she desprit preformance. I've never seen or heard of
a warbler doing this has anyone else?
