Ran a 10 mile loop this morning which includes a number of county roads
in southwestern Loudoun County. Along the loop, I heard 8 eastern
phoebes singing. On Willisville Rd, Rt 623, observed my first tree
swallows-- 3 of them-- of the year. They were in an area of open fields
dotted with bluebird nest boxes.
Lots of wood frogs and spring peepers calling at many points along the
loop.
