On an afternoon foray into Northern Shenadoah Co, we found a single PHOEBE
along CR 621, which follows Cedar Creek. We had a hard time figuring out
whether we were in Shenandoah or Frederick Co., but I believe we were actually
in the former - barely.
Other than that, the trip was somewhat of a wash, as the wind kept most birds
down and out of sight. Also down, were a number of trees on various back roads
which made for a few U-turns due to blocked roads.
Only late in the day did we start to find Kestrels on wires (total of only 5).
Again, the wind was the factor of the day.
