This morning I rowed south out of Belle Haven Marina and noticed that
the osprey nest on Hog Island is gone, after all these years. Spotted a
lone osprey at the top of a dead tree nearby (perhaps a feathered
insurance agent, estimating the cost of rebuilding.) Chip Johnston, at
the Marina, said that the nest was blown down several weeks ago.
