All (For info purposes...),
I saw the Red-necked Phalarope today at the Bombay Hook NWR near Smyrna DE.
It was amongst hundreds of other sandpipers in the Raymond Pool. Other notables
were nesting Black-necked Stilts along the Bear Swamp Pool about 25 yds from
the road.
Also present was an American Avocet in faded plumage (Raymond Pool),
a Double-crested Cormorant, and a pair of White-crowned Night Herons in the
weeds
amongst the trees on the west side of Bear Swamp Pool. It was my first time
there and it
was really cool (or should I see rather hot). I'll take my 100% deet or
mosquito suit next time
though. Only Warbler seen was Yellow.
Good Birding,
Matt Orsie
