Early morning birding on Tuesday 26 April & Wednesday 27 April at
Observatory Hill (O-Hill) in Charlottesville was interesting, yielding
WORM-EATING (several), BLACK-THROATED BLUE (1 male Tue), BLACK-THROATED
GREEN (several), YELLOW-RUMPED (numerous), NASHVILLE (1 - 2 each day),
and CERULEAN WARBLERS (1 - 2 each day); AMERICAN REDSTART (3 - 4 per
day), WOOD THRUSH (a couple singing), INDIGO BUNTING (1 male Wed),
BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER (several), GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHER (1 or 2 per
day), SCARLET TANAGER (a particularly fine male Wed); WHITE-EYED (1
Tue), RED-EYED (fairly common), YELLOW-THROATED (1 Wed), and BLUE-HEADED
VIREO (4 or 5 per day). The observers on Tueday were Dave Hogg, Mike
Iwanik, and myself; several others joined us Wednesday morning.
